Photo Call (otherwise known as “I am too tired to write”)

I was actually planning to write something tonight, perhaps something about the latest book I read for my 2013 Reading List, but…  You know how sometimes your kids (or in this case one kid in particular) has such an awful night that they sap you of the will to do anything but lie on the couch and wish it were truly early enough to go to bed?  Yeah, it’s been that kind of night.  So, instead, I decided to share some of the kick-ass photos Jon took during our weekend ramblings.  This is in the hopes that you will be sufficiently distracted by the cuteness of my children (and various family members) to forget that this post has little actual content.  It is also in the hopes that looking at their cuteness will erase all memory of the last 1.5 hours from my head.

The main point I’d like you to take away from this picture is that yes, yes her hair is long enough for a ponytail.

It's still weird to me to see Maddie not only playing on her own but having actual, sit-down conversations on her own. Like, they are in their own little world.

Although, ten bucks says this conversation has something to do with Ninja Turtles…

We attended my awesomesauce nephew’s 6th birthday party (well, and my neice’s 2nd, even though she’s not pictured here), and while there, he made sure that Jon got a nice close up of his Doritos. Who’s hungry?

Gabbie got in some quality time with both of her grandfathers this weekend, and Jon managed to get this pretty cute picture of Gabs and her "Baw."

And here’s an end of the evening shot, complete with Star Spangled Ball and Flag. My evening, sadly, did not end nearly this triumphantly, but here’s hoping for better tomorrow. Peace, ya’ll. I’m out.
